Welcome to the Ladies Section of The West Lothian Golf Club
What a start we have had to 2010 weather-wise. This time last year it was cold but our golf still went ahead, this year the snow put paid to any such plans & impacted our Texas Scrambles as well as those who wished to utilise their golf related Christmas presents! However, the course still looked beautiful & the surrounding views as stunning as ever.
All being well our Texas Scramble on Sunday 7th February, 2010 will still go ahead & will include a fund raiser toward Breast Cancer. Following this we have another Texas Scramble on Sunday 7th March, then we officially start the new season on Saturday 3rd April with our ‘Carol Fae Campsie’ Opening Tri-Am.
Pre-Season Socials
On the social front we have a family quiz night up at the Club on Friday 15th Jan. Tickets are £5.00/team and there are 3 cash prizes up for grabs. Following this we have a ‘Taste of Scotland’ Dinner on Friday 22nd January. Tickets are priced at £18.95 for a superb 4 course menu. On Tuesday 16th March we have our Ladies Opening Social which is both an informative & fun evening, additional details will be made available soon.
For those of you visiting our web site who are not yet members of The West Lothian Golf Club but are considering joining us, we are happy to arrange for one of our committee members to take you out on the course, show you around the Club House & answer any questions you may have regarding being a member of The West Lothian Golf Club.
New Members Welcome
Our Ladies have full membership of the Club and our season is a busy one with over 30 weekend competitions for the Ladies between April & September, plus over 15 Thursday competitions, along with additional knock out competitions & league matches. Our competitions include stroke play, greensomes, foursomes, stablefords (individual & team), fun ones (i.e. 3 Clubs & a Putter) and 9 hole comps too. Plenty of choice for everybody! Over the winter we organise monthly Texas Scrambles which includes our Gents section & Junior section. The Ladies also get together to play bounce games each Saturday afternoon during the winter.
Last year we invested time in developing our Junior Girls section & now have approx. 12 girls aged between 11-13 who have been receiving coaching from our Pro & support from our Ladies section. The Ladies section will continue to focus on our girls’ development with regular games starting in the Spring along with the introduction of new competitions for them.
The West Lothian Golf Club Ladies section is a friendly & pro-active one and we look forward to welcoming any new Lady or Junior Girl members to the Club during 2010. If interested in joining, please call the Club on 01506 826030 and we’ll put the wheels in motion for you.
